Electronic Arts has topped JP Morgan & Goldman Sachs (somehow) and even nudged past last year’s much hated and mega polluter British Petroleum, to earn the title of being the most “disliked” Company in existence. Wow! You have to work hard to fail like that!
EA shamefully picked up the gong in a vote hosted by Consumerist.com. The consumer site is published by Consumer Media a not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports, and takes no outside advertising. After the survey which attracted more than 260,000 votes, EA was found to be the most disliked.
"Some may look down their noses at the idea of voters picking a video game publisher as the Worst Company In America, but that is the exact kind of attitude that has allowed EA and its ilk to nickel and dime devoted customers for a decade," said Chris Morran, deputy editor of Consumerist.com. "This is not just a few people complaining about bad games; this vote represents a large group of consumers who have grown sick and tired of being ignored and taken advantage of."
Here’s a telegram to the CEO of all Music, Film & Game publishers… Start earning the respect from consumers else you will find it a very chilly Christmas season this year!
