Final Fantasy is a series that has spanned across generations of gamers. Gamers old and young can still converse while this series has provided us with many of our favorite video game characters, a fair share of terrible characters have come as well. Today, I take a look back at the five worst heroes that have been put into Final Fantasy titles.

#5 Bartz Klauser
While it is true Final Fantasy V was a fantastic game, the lead protagonist was one of the dumbest characters square has come up with. Not only is his entire purpose just to aimlessly wander the world, but he obviously was never curious about his dad, I mean, how do you not know your dad was an alien warrior? This all pales in comparison to his horrible line from the GBA version, "You've been served with cheese biscuits and mashed potatoes." Bartz was a terrible hero and that’s why he is #5 on the list of worst Final Fantasy heroes, not to mention his name originally was Butz.

#4 Cloud Strife
While Cloud is a fan favorite for many gamers, he is not a good hero in the least. First off, he isn’t even the amazing SOLDIER that you are lead to believe he is. Cloud also dies before the game even takes place and is just a clone of the original. Cloud may have a good design but that does not make the character great. He is able to pull off a few moments of awesomeness but the rest of the game is riddled by him whining. The fact that Cloud’s past that you are originally presented with is a lie, he is a clone and he whines throughout the entire game grant him the #4 position.

#3 Hope Estheim
While Final Fantasy XIII is a point of disagreement amongst many gamers, it is no doubt that Hope is one of the worst heroes to date. Hope is a little kid who basically complains and whines throughout the entire game. His only redeeming quality is that he is a good Synergist and Healer but to attempt to use him as anything other than that is nearly suicide. He could have been made a lot cooler, like Tidus from FFX, but he just turned out to be a massive metrosexual.

oh and... Pyroclasm is cool!!!
This is baised, and almost seems like the author is trying to rouse a fight.
The whole idea is to put yourself in the characters shoes and understand the reason for them being the way they are.
