Today NetherRealm Studios released the second paid-DLC for Mortal Kombat (2011) to the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. While the first expansion was simply a nice set of costumes and fatalities, this second offering is an entirely new character. Skarlet is a new female warrior, inspired by pallete-swap glitches that occurred back in the arcade days of the original Mortal Kombat trilogy. Alone, Skarlet costs $5.00 (400 Microsoft Points), though there is also a bundle deal. For $15.00 (1200 MSP) you will get all four new characters; though obviously you have to wait for them to arrive this summer. So far Kenshi and Rain are confirmed as the next two characters, with the fourth being a surprise. Naturally, many gamers are wondering who this might be- and I'm taking it upon myself to figure that out to the best of my abilities.

The first thing to realize when determining who this secret kombatant might be, is that there are already several in-game models of nonplayable characters. These are as follows:
- Daegon
- Frost
- Kenshi (Confirmed as DLC)
- Li Mei
- Meat
- Rain (Confirmed as DLC)
- Reiko
- Sareena
- Skarlet (Confirmed as DLC)
- Tanya
Many characters are also mentioned through either the story mode, or endings from completing the arcade ladder. These are as follows:
- Bo' Rai Cho
- Fujin (Character data found by hackers)
- Havik
- Onaga (Mentioned through in-game biographies)
- Shinnok
When looking at things from a developer's perspective, it only makes sense to make things easier on yourself. It can be assumed that Ed Boon and his team have known for quite some time who they intended to add into the roster. For instance Skarlet and Kenshi were confirmed almost immediately after the launch of the game. Rain was only recently confirmed, but the fact his character model was already in the game almost implies the fourth character is already somewhat complete.

I would like Reiko (who's actually Shao Kahn undercover) or Mavado
