The Android OS and Market was launched only a few years back in 2008. Since then, over 200,000 apps have been released on it. Among these apps are a plentiful amount of paid and free games. We at Gameplay Today have compiled a list to let you know exactly what the must-have titles available on Android devices are.
Words with Friends

Although it was just recently brought to the Android Market Words with Friends has already become an instant hit. Originally surfacing as a paid app on iPod/iPad and iPhone, this game is simply Scrabble but allows you to play it with any of your friends that have it. Zynga took advantage of the internet by using WiFi and data plans to allow you to challenge your friends to wireless games of Scrabble no matter where they are. The best things about this app are you can play anytime you want, it’s free and it is able to play with friends on the Apple products as well.
Mouse Trap

Everyone remembers the game Rush Hour where you have to slide cars around to make your car a clear path, well Mouse Trap is just that. The complete redesign was a good move and keeps it from being that same old car game you played as a kid. This is another one of those titles that allows you to pick up where you left off at any point and put your brain to the test. There are many imitators on the Market but none of them look as good as Mouse Trap. This title is fun, challenging and best of all free!
Robo Defense

Tower Defense games have been around for a while and nearly every gamer has played at least one before, that explains why Robo Defense is so popular but why is it good? This game has some of the prettiest looking graphics on an Android game and even switches between multiple level designs. Along with that, a new map has recently been added that features randomized fixed path levels to constantly test your skills. There are literally around 100 “levels” in Robo Defense and, of course, gets harder as you go along. This game is very addicting and will consume many hours from you. While this game is not free and comes in at around $3, there is a trial for those skeptical about it.
