The demo for Mortal Kombat has some of us drooling in anticipation of it's release. You can play the demo for the game on Playstation Network right now. So the GamePlayToday's staff was asked who is their favorite Mortal Kombat character? And of course what the staff is playing this weekend.

Austin Cox: Johnny Cage - I don't like Johnny so much for his actual gameplay, but more for the original MK movie. He's a movie star. He gets the girl. Sometimes he even wins in a fight. Cage wins easily for me. Sub Zero is a solid runner up for the ninja out for revenge factor. (Homefront, Biggest Loser - Kinect)
Samuel Evans: Sub-Zero. But only unmasked, he was at his peak of cool in MK3. (Slam Bolt Scrappers, Half-Minute Hero)
AJ Lysiak: Shinnok. He's always been an underrated character, but I love his character design and move list; even though I hated the game he appeared in. (DB: Raging Blast 2, ilomilo)
Gary Guillot: Raiden. He's the god of lightning. Your argument is invalid. But seriously, his whole look is part of the appeal; the goofy hat, the lightning-charged eyes, the wacky squeal he makes when he performs the torpedo and especially the fact that he was played by Christopher Lambert in the MK film. (Morrowind, Super Mario Crossover)
Sarah McMillen: No one. I've never played Mortal Kombat before so I don't know the characters! (Jikandia: The Timeless Land, Final Fantasy: Dissidia)
Brandon Salazar: Batman. Duh. I mean it's effing BATMAN (Kingdom Hearts 2)
Sean Talarico: Hmm my favorite mortal kombat character is Jax because of his badass metal arms. (Yakuza 4)
